Strategic Sourcing FAQ
Shapewear Manufacturing FAQ
Practical answers from the HB Shaper sourcing team. Confirm the product scope, current evidence, and commercial terms in your written quotation.
Are you a manufacturer or a supplier?
HB Shaper is the international brand of HB Garments (Shenzhen) Limited, a China-based shapewear manufacturer and supplier. Ask us to confirm the production site, processes, legal quotation entity, and quality documents relevant to your order through a factory verification review.
What is your real MOQ? Is the advertised 50 pcs actually achievable?
Sample orders start from 2 pcs, subject to stock. Private label branding on many existing styles starts from 50 pcs per style; custom fabric colors typically start from 500 pcs; full bespoke ODM development typically starts from 2,000 pcs. Materials, color and size splits, packaging, and the approved design can change the minimum. Confirm the final quantity in the written quote.
How do you ensure sample quality matches bulk production?
Agree a pre-production sample, measurements and tolerances, materials, labels, and packaging before bulk production. Record in-line checks and the final inspection plan, including the sampling level and AQL where applicable. Keep the approved sample and inspection report with the order records.
Can you handle Amazon FBA packaging and labeling?
Yes. We can prepare polybags, FNSKU labels, carton marks, and shipment documents after the seller confirms the current destination and Seller Central requirements. Approve the artwork, barcode scan, bag specification, and carton plan before packing; fulfillment-center acceptance depends on the actual shipment and current rules.
How fast is sampling and what does it cost?
Selected in-stock standard styles can be prepared for sample dispatch in as fast as 48 hours after availability and scope are confirmed. Custom patterns, colors, branding, and revisions require a separate schedule. Sample preparation, dispatch, and shipping transit are separate milestones.
What certifications does your factory have?
Request current ISO 9001, BSCI audit, and relevant material or product test documents for the proposed supply chain. Check the named holder, site, scope, issue and expiry dates, and issuing body. Fabric certification does not automatically certify every finished garment; agree the applicable evidence and inspection plan for your order.
What happens if the bulk order has quality issues?
Compare the goods with the approved sample and written specification, and send the order number, affected quantities, photos, and inspection findings. Confirm the agreed remedy, such as correction, replacement, or credit, under the order terms. A sampling acceptance limit is not a guarantee of a particular customer return or defect rate.
How do you protect my designs and intellectual property?
We sign NDAs before you share any design details. Your patterns, tech packs, and custom molds remain your property. We manage strict IP protection across all production stages and our factory staff sign separate confidentiality agreements so your designs stay secure.
What are your payment terms and are they negotiable?
Standard: 30% deposit to start production, 70% balance before shipment. T/T bank transfer, L/C, Western Union accepted. For repeat buyers: we offer more flexible terms after 2-3 successful orders. Suppliers demanding 100% upfront should raise red flags.
What is your production lead time and do you hit deadlines?
Production timing depends on the style, quantity, material availability, customization, and sample approval. Confirm the start conditions and dated production milestones in the quote. Stock branding and new development need different schedules; discuss rush feasibility and any extra cost before ordering. Production completion, freight, customs, and final delivery are separate milestones.
Do you offer sustainable/eco-friendly fabric options?
Recycled and other material options can be discussed during sourcing. Ask for the relevant current GRS, OEKO-TEX, or material test documents, and verify the holder, scope, and product coverage before making a certified or sustainability claim. Availability, minimums, and price depend on the selected material.
What fabrics do you recommend for different markets?
Based on our experience: Hot climates (Middle East, SE Asia, US South) —nylon-spandex with moisture-wicking + mesh panels. Temperate climates —standard nylon-spandex blends. Premium positioning —180-220 GSM 4-way stretch nylon. Budget markets —140-160 GSM. We match fabric to your target market —GSM too low = see-through; too high = overheating. Both generate negative reviews.
I'm a startup with limited budget. Can I still work with you?
Absolutely. Start with in-stock styles at 50 pcs with heat-transfer logo (as low as 2-5 pcs for samples). Test the market first. When you have 3-6 months of consistent reorder data, transition to custom OEM development. This 'test small, scale smart' approach is the most recommended path in B2B sourcing communities for minimizing risk.
How can I verify your supply chain before placing an order?
Request the current business license, relevant quality certificate and audit details, production evidence for the selected construction, and an approved sample. Match the quotation and payment beneficiary to the agreed legal entity. Our factory-verification page provides a document checklist and independent verification links.
Can I visit your office or meet your team?
Yes. We're based in Shenzhen. Client visits are welcome —schedule at least 1 week in advance so we can arrange a productive meeting and sample review session. Virtual video meetings are available same-day if travel isn't feasible.
Still Have Questions?
